DOMi & JD Beck at House of Blues tonight and I've spent the afternoon with the keyboard flat across my lap, trying to steal her voicings — she plays like she's telling secrets. The jeans lost that argument somewhere around the second chorus. Come sit close and listen.
BEAT is playing King Crimson at the Civic tonight and I've spent the afternoon trying to steal Vai's tapping runs before showtime. My fingers are losing and I love it. You know your way around a prog crowd, right?
Taking Back Sunday, Thrice and Saves The Day at Gallagher Square tonight — three bands that owned my headphones growing up, all in one night. Shower's done, towel's barely negotiating, and I'm in no hurry to get dressed. Tell me which song you want me screaming in the pit.
Ticket's in my pocket, board's under my arm, and I'm at the amphitheatre way too early for a Mana show — been running Oye Mi Amor on repeat since the coffee kicked in. Meet me on the lawn when the horns kick in.
Sleep lost the argument to this riff an hour ago and Niteharts can wait till noon. Amp for a backrest, jeans barely cooperating — tell me you'd come take the guitar off my hands.
Skated to Balboa Park to find out where they hide the monsters — the Haunted Trail opens tonight and I'm claiming my spot early. Come scream with me in the dark.
L7 brings the riot to the Casbah tonight and I've been playing air guitar in front of this mirror since the coffee kicked in. Some bands you dress up for — this one you dress down for. Tell me you'll be up front with me.
Whole boardwalk to myself and they're still stacking pumpkins for the beachside fall fest — skated over with the board under my arm before the crowds showed. Tell me which one you'd drag home.
Pit left me hoarse and buzzing and the last of the clothes came off somewhere between the front door and the kitchen. Fridge light, cold water, nobody home but me. Still awake, or am I drinking alone?
Social Distortion at Petco tonight and the house is shaking with them already — punk this loud demands boots and loses the shirt somewhere in the second verse. Half dressed and somehow still late. You saving me a spot in the pit?
